SEARCH CONTINUES FOR SUSPECT IN WEDNESDAY NIGHT SHOOTING

The suspect in a shooting incident that took place on Grover Street in South Rome on Wednesday night is still reported at large.

According to reports from the Rome Police Department, E-911 received a call about gunshots fired in the area just after 9:30 pm.  Upon arrival, officers found one man lying in the street on Grover Street with a gunshot wound to the head.  Another man that suffered at least one gunshot wound was found a short time later in the 100 block of Broad Street.  Both were taken to Floyd Medical Center.  James Edward Parks, the victim discovered on Grover, was pronounced dead.

Police are searching for surveillance videos from businesses in the area that may shed light on the incident.  Those with such videos or more information should call Lt. Joe Costolnick at (706) 238-5122, detective Pete Sailors at (706) 238-5122 or 911.
