STORMS TO BE FOLLOWED BY SUNSHINE, COOLER TEMPERATURES

Written by Elizabeth Davis. Posted in News & Weather

Stormy weather that moved into the Greater Rome area overnight is expected to be followed by sunshine and cooler temperatures today, accordingt to the National Weather Service.

Thunderstorms resulted in a handful of power outages (and perhaps awakened some local residents) during the overnight hours.  A little more than a quarter of an inch of rain was reported through early this morning at the Russell Regional Airport by the NWS.

Today’s forecast calls for showers, possibly a thunderstorm, through the morning to be followed by sunshine this afternoon.  High temperatures will be in the mid 50s.  Tonight’s low will dip to around 30.
