Summer is a great time to get fresh, homegrown fruits and vegetables in Rome and Floyd County.
Kristi Kent, Director of Communications for the City of Rome and the Greater Rome Convention and Visitors Bureau, reminds locals that the “Rome Grown, Rome Made” farmer’s market is open at the Rome Civic Center every Friday from 9 am until 1 pm. The Farmer’s Market at Ridge Ferry Park hosted by Rome Floyd Parks and Recreation will continue to be open to the public every Wednesday and Saturday from 7 am until 11:30 am through October 7th.
Kent additionally urges residents of Rome and Floyd County to be tourists in their own hometown. Tourism dollars equate to a boost for local businesses and to the local tax base.
