Today is the first day of summer!  The summer solstice was slated to occur in the Earth’s Northern Hemisphere this morning at 6:07 am.  This is the longest day of the year; days will grow shorter after today.

It is not anticipated to be as hot today in the Greater Rome area as it has been in recent days.  The National Weather Service predicts a high temperature of 86 with a chance of showers and thunderstorms.
