Issues that concern today’s teenagers will be among the topics that will be discussed at a Table Talk Teen Forum scheduled for Thursday, January 25th. It will be held from 6 pm until 8 pm at the Floyd County Health Department, located at 16 East 12th Street in Rome.
Carol Willis, Director of the Rome-Floyd County Commission on Children and Youth, says that this will be the 8th annual Table Talk event. This year, a panel of local youth will discuss four pressing topics that concern them; those include teen relationships, drug availability, mental health stigma, and social media. Representatives from a number of local human service agencies will assist the teenagers with development of the discussion.
Willis adds that the forum is open to the public, especially teenagers and the concerned parents of teenagers. Doors will open at 5:30 pm with a resource fair as well as refreshments.
The ultimate goal of the event, says Willis, is to provide a voice for the youth of the community.
