Autumn officially arrives on Saturday. The folks at Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites encourage residents statewide to usher in the season by getting outdoors and exploring parks in your own backyard.
Kim Hatcher, Public Affairs Coordinator, says that seasonal offerings include guided cave tours at Cloudland Canyon throughout September.
Hatcher adds that nearby Red Top Mountain State Park will offer Halloween Hay Rides in October; these sell out fast. Interested parties may obtain more information about upcoming events at Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites online at www.gastateparks.org.
And the calls are flooding in from those who wish to go camping this fall at parks around the state, attests Hatcher. Call now to make your reservation! If your desired location is already booked for this fall, go ahead and reserve a spot for next fall.
Along with cabins, accommodations include yurts and adventure lodges. For more information or to make a reservation, call (800) 864-7275.
