Voters in Cave Spring are casting their ballots on four questions related to the sale of distilled spirits within city limits.  If these measures are approved, this would pave the way for the establishment of a craft distillery on the square in downtown Cave Spring.

Election Day is coming up Tuesday, March 19th. Today is the last day of early voting.  Cave Spring has already broken its record for early voting, according to Sandra Lindsey, Downtown Development Authority Director.  Voters may cast their ballots in advance until 4:30 pm this afternoon at City Hall.

Voting will be offered on Election Day from 7 am to 7 pm at the Community Center directly behind City Hall.

The four questions featured on the ballot allow voters to voice their opinions about whether or not they wish for distilled spirits to be sold by package and served by the drink, adds Lindsey.

If these measures are approved, the distillery would be located at an historic building on the square next to The Peddler.  Lindsey anticipates that it will be a ‘classy’ establishment that will attract many tourists.

Restoration on the facility will begin when (and if) all four ballot questions are passed.  Lindsey hopes that the new craft distillery will officially open to the public in late summer.
