This is the final week of early voting for the July 24th run off election.  Floyd County voters may cast their ballots in advance any day this week from 8 am until 5 pm through Friday at the Elections Office, located inside the county’s Administration Building on East 4th Avenue in downtown Rome, or at Garden Lakes Baptist Church, 2200 Redmond Circle.

Voters in the Republican party will determine their candidates for Governor, Lieutenant Governor and Secretary of State. Democrats will select a nominee for State School Superintendent.  Winners in the run-off election will advance to the general election in November.

Brian Kemp, Georgia’s current Secretary of State, stated on Monday, “We have less than one week left of early voting for our state’s party primary run-offs.  Voters have yet another chance to get to the polls and make important decisions on who will represent their respective parties in November.  Let’s be sure to take full advantage of the right to choose our leaders on this and every opportunity.”

Kemp is running for the GOP nomination for Georgia’s next Governor.  He faces opposition from Lieutenant Governor Casey Cagle.  Cagle received an endorsement from current Governor Nathan Deal on Monday.

All precincts will be open on Election Day, one week from today, from 7 am until 7 pm.
