FOUR YEAR OLD DIES IN FLOYD COUNTY DROWNING INCIDENT

A four-year-old died in a drowning incident in Floyd County on Wednesday night.  The child has been identified as Levi Waln.  According to reports, he was discovered unconscious in the family’s in-ground pool on Mathis Road just before 7:30 pm.  Medics’ attempts to revive the child were unsuccessful, and he was pronounced dead at Floyd Medical Center at 9 pm.

The Georgia Department of Public Health attests that drowning is the second leading cause of accidental death for children ages one to four.
